This book is devoted to the history and architecture of one of the eminent monuments of Armenian medieval culture — the Monastery of Kecharis, the life of its spiritual leaders and artisans. The medieval architectural complex known as Kecharis Monastery is located in the town of Tsakhkadzor in the Kotayk region of the Republic of Armenia.

The construction of the churches of the Kecharis Monastery began in the early 11th century under the Pahlavouni princes. It continued in the 13th century by the Khaghbakian-Proshian family. Kecharis used to be a prominent educational center.

The notable philosopher and theologian, Grigor Magistros, was based here. Today, Kecharis Monastery is the cathedral of the Kotayk Diocese.
