With his trilingual legacy, Sayat-Nova is a unique phenomenon in world lyric poetry. In addition to his native language, he also composed in Georgian and Turkish. He wrote two bilingual songs in Armenian-Turkish, several songs with Persian admixtures, and one quadrilingual song in Georgian, Persian, Turkish, and Armenian.

The primary source for the Turkish songs is his autograph songbook (Davtar), while the main source for the Georgian songs is the collection compiled by his son, Ohani. In his Turkish songs, he proudly acknowledges his Armenian origin.

This booklet includes 25 songs in Georgian and 49 in Turkish, translated by M. Hasratyan and H. Bakhchinyan.
