The volume is devoted to the history and architecture of one of eminent monuments of Armenian medieval culture: monastery of Kecharis, the life of its spiritual leaders and artisans. The medieval architectural complex known as Kecharis monastery is located in the town Tsakhkadzor in Kotayk region of the modern Republic of Armenia.
The construction of the churches in Kecharis monastery had started in the very beginning of 11th century by Pahlavouni princes and continued in the 13th century by Khaghbakian-Proshian family.
Kecharis used to be a prominent educational center. The notable philosopher and theologian - Grigor Magistros was based here. Today Kecharis monastery is the diocesan Prelacy of Kotayk region.
