The author has thoroughly studied the rich body of literature dedicated to Shushi and the historically significant period of its liberation. He also held meetings with several commanders and fighters who participated in the military operations.
In the preface, the author regretfully acknowledges that, during his research, he frequently encountered disputed, biased, and contradictory facts—published in books and the press, as well as expressed in the testimonies of those directly involved in the events. Nevertheless, he spared no effort to present the history truthfully by cross-checking the facts described in the book.
